Two Soil Soul
Composição: Marisa Narciso.I’ve learned to love the sound of a steel guitar
And how the neon looks beneath these western stars
I speak the language now, I walk these city streets
But I still feel the rhythm of bossa, my homeland's beat
They ask me where I’m from, like I can only choose
Like loving this new land means I am bound to lose
The dirt that raised my feet, the warmth of where I started
But I am not split in half, and I’m not faint-hearted
Because my horizon’s wide, and my roots run deep
I carry both the worlds that I get to keep
Speaking different tongues, tasting every flavor
It’s a richer life, a sweetness that I savor
I refuse to hide or narrow down my view
I’m standing tall today, and it’s all thanks to you
For showing me that pride is something we can share
With one foot on this stage and one foot over there
Why taste a single dish when the world’s a feast?
Why lock the western wind and shut out the east?
Learning another tongue just grows the heart inside
It doesn't wash away my history or my pride
You taught me how to rise without forgetting yesterday
To build a bigger house where all my cultures play
Porque o meu horizonte é amplo e a raiz é profunda
Carrego os dois mundos que a vida me deu
Falando outras línguas, provando cada sabor
É uma vida mais rica, vivida com amor
Me recuso a me limitar ou esquecer de onde vim
De cabeça erguida, agradeço por acreditar em mim
Por me mostrar que o orgulho a gente pode partilhar
Com um pé neste palco e o outro no meu lugar
Some people want a border, a line drawn in the sand
But a heart is meant to grow, just like the open land
Thank you for the grace to let me be complete
Where the southern cross and the northern rivers meet
Yeah, I’m standing tall
Just like you do, too
De cabeça erguida
Just like you do, too
