Rep. Greg Casar (D-Texas) and Sen. Bernie Sanders have introduced the 'Home Team Act' to prevent owners from moving teams without giving locals a chance to buy the team. This bill, if passed, would require sports franchises to give a year notice before moving teams to new communities. It would also give those communities a chance to buy the franchise at a fair price.
